Mbaraka Amuri is a seasoned public health professional currently serving as the Senior Evaluation & Research Specialist and Deputy Branch Chief for Science at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Tanzania since October 2017. With extensive experience in scientific work, research methods, public health evaluations, and epidemiology, Mbaraka Amuri plays a critical role in supporting CDC Tanzania’s scientific and clinical programs. Prior to joining CDC, Mbaraka was the Country Program Coordinator for the ACTwatch Project at PSI Tanzania, focusing on malaria research across multiple countries. Additionally, Mbaraka held positions as a Research Coordinator at Jhpiego and as a Research Scientist at the Ifakara Health Institute, where significant contributions were made to studies on malaria and HIV/AIDS. Mbaraka holds a Master of Public Health and Research Methodology from L'Université libre de Bruxelles and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Dar es Salaam.
