Monique Foster serves as the Deputy Director of Programs in Sierra Leone for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a position held since July 2014. Foster also holds the title of Medical Epidemiologist and previously served as an EIS Officer within the same organization. Since July 2014, Monique has been a Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Prior experience includes a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from July 2011 to July 2014, a Pediatric Registrar role at Canterbury District Health Board from August 2010 to June 2011, and a Pediatric Resident position at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center from July 2007 to July 2010. Monique Foster holds a Master of Public Health degree from Vanderbilt University, an M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in History and Biology from East Carolina University.
