Sharmeen Premjee currently serves as the Deputy Director at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Dominican Republic, a position held since April 2017. Previously, Sharmeen held the role of Deputy Chief for Overseas Strategy & Management in the Global HIV & TB program at the CDC. Prior experience includes a position in Strategic Initiatives at The Global Fund from October 2014 to March 2017, and roles in Global HIV/AIDS at the CDC from August 2011 to September 2014. Sharmeen also contributed to gang reduction and youth development efforts under Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa's office from August 2006 to August 2009, as well as worked on environmental justice and peace and security initiatives with Physicians for Social Responsibility from August 2004 to August 2006. Sharmeen earned a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
