Renee Monks

Renee Monks has extensive work experience in the field of data engineering and analytics. Their most recent position was as a Principal Data Engineer at CDK Global, where they started in 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Lead Application Service Engineer at the same company from May 2022 to January 2023.

Before joining CDK Global, Renee worked at Sphaera, Inc. as a SR Director of Data & Analytics & PMO from January 2021 to May 2022. In this role, they managed various technical projects, including data center migration, performance optimization, and project management of data warehouse enhancements.

From 2017 to 2021, Renee held multiple roles at PK, including Practice Director and Practice Manager. Their responsibilities involved overseeing data science projects, building data warehouses and analytics applications, and managing agile project management for data warehouse enhancements and support.

Renee also gained experience as a SR BI Developer at Columbia Sportswear Company in 2016 and as a Business Analytics Solution Architect at BPM Northwest in 2015.

Renee started their career at Nike Consulting in 2013, where they served as a BI Manager and BI Architect. In these roles, they were responsible for driving BI initiatives, managing agile processes, and providing guidance and mentoring to the team.

Additionally, Renee has worked as a BI Architect at OHSU in 2012 and at Vircon as a BI Manager and BI Architect from 2010 to 2012. Renee has experience in Cognos administration, creating management briefing books, developing data models, and conducting interviews for BI positions.

Throughout their career, Renee has contributed to various technical projects and has expertise in tools such as Cognos, Azure, and SQL databases.

Renee Monks completed their high school education at Scappoose High School from 1989 to 1993. Renee then attended Portland Community College from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained an Associates of Science degree in Business. Additionally, during the same period, they earned another Associates of Science degree in Business Administration - Oregon Block Transfer from Portland Community College. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management and Informations Systems & Quantitative Analysis from Portland State University's School of Business, graduating in 1998.

Outside of their formal education, Renee Monks has obtained several certifications. These include the "Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals" from Microsoft and the "PL-900 Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals" from Udemy, both obtained in July 2023. Renee also completed the "Snowflake - The Complete Masterclass (2023 Edition)" on Udemy in March 2023. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in ITIL® (Learning ITIL™) and various programming languages (Object-Oriented Programming with Java, Python Essential Training, Learning PowerShell) from LinkedIn. Renee acquired the Full Stack Observability Practitioner Exam certification from New Relic, Inc. in August 2022, and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2022. Lastly, they obtained the Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from Scaled Agile Inc in June 2020.
