James O'Brien

James O'Brien is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in disaster recovery and community leadership. Currently serving as Senior Manager Disaster Recovery at CDR Maguire Inc. since April 2020, O'Brien oversees FEMA Public Assistance and Individual Assistance programs. In addition, O'Brien has held the position of Mayor and Town Council Member in the Town of Windermere since 2011, indicating strong political leadership skills. Previously, O'Brien was Program Director for Volunteer Florida, where responsibilities included managing a $28 million Disaster Case Management Program in response to Hurricane Irma, and held various leadership roles at Goodwill Industries, the National MS Society, and the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. O'Brien holds an M.Ed in Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.
