Expert/affinity Characterization at CDR-Life

Hannes Merten has worked in a variety of roles in the biopharmaceutical industry since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology, where they were responsible for preparing antenna and nerve cords of the olfactory system in Drosophila and Heliothis, as well as performing fluorescence imaging of active regions of the olfactory system on stimulated animals. In 2011, they completed an internship at Cancer Research UK and also worked as a Diploma Student and Research Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they were responsible for purification process establishment of innovative antibody formats with novel ligands, as well as characterizing biochemical properties of different new antibody formats and antibody fragment fusion proteins. From 2013 to 2020, they worked as a PhD Graduate Student at the Plückthun group, University of Zurich, where they were responsible for generating targeted drug conjugates for tumor therapy and supervising several master students. Since 2020, they have been working as a Scientist/Affinity Characterization Expert at CDR-Life Inc., where they are responsible for characterizing novel antibody formats and supporting lead candidate selection for numerous projects. Theirkey expertise is SPR biosensor analysis for affinity determination.

Hannes Merten attended Friedrich Schiller University Jena from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Diploma in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
