Thijs Damsma

Thijs Damsma has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Thijs is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at CEAD Group since March 2022. Prior to this, they spent twelve years at Van Oord, where they held the role of Lead Technical Specialist. During their time at Van Oord, Thijs worked on various projects, including the design and implementation of a data management system, a simulation tool for weather downtime analysis, and an automated system for organizing and analyzing a dredging impact monitoring campaign. Before joining Van Oord, Thijs worked as a Junior Engineer at Deltares for a few months in 2009. Thijs also worked as a Guide at Noord-Zuid lijn/Maeslantkering/HSL from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, Thijs completed an M.Sc. thesis at Boskalis & Deltares from 2008 to 2009 and an internship at Boskalis in 2008. Thijs also served as an EncoraNL Coordination Officer at TU Delft & WL|Delft Hydraulics from 2006 to 2008. In the early stages of their career, Thijs worked as an R&D Employee at PLAXIS finite element code for soil and rock analysis from 2002 to 2004.

Thijs Damsma started their education at Praedinius Gymnasium, where they attended from 1997 to 1999. It is not specified if they obtained a degree or pursued any specific field of study during this time.

Following this, Thijs pursued a degree in Coastal Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Thijs attended the university from 2001 to 2009 and completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in this field.
