Byron D. Yépez V. has extensive work experience in the field of research and technology. Byron D. started their career in 2009 as an Associate Professor II at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. In this role, they were responsible for teaching various courses related to Food and Chemical Engineering Programs. Byron D. also coordinated research projects with external and internal funding.

Byron D. Yépez V. holds a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Applied Thermodynamics & Supercritical Fluids, which they obtained from Universidad del Valle in Colombia. Byron D. pursued their doctoral studies from 2004 to 2009. In 2007, they also spent a term as a Visiting Ph.D Student at the University of Alberta.

Prior to their Ph.D, Byron completed their undergraduate studies at the Universidad del Valle, where they obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1999.
