Jaya Birch-Desai is a seasoned professional in research and user experience, currently serving as the Director of Research at Cedar since August 2021. Prior to this, Jaya worked at Deloitte Consulting as a Manager in Healthcare Innovation Strategy, Research, and Design, where responsibilities included product creation through design, social science, business strategy, and technology, along with coaching cross-disciplinary teams. Jaya's experience at athenahealth spans multiple roles, including Manager of User Experience Research for Emerging Services, leading research and design for clinical products utilized by over 72,000 physicians, and playing key roles in various user research initiatives for electronic medical records. Earlier experience includes a Human Factors Internship at Cambridge Consultants. Jaya holds an MBA from Cornell Tech and a B.S. in Engineering Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Tufts University.
