Edyta Zielinska

Edyta Zielinska has extensive work experience in science communications and media relations. Edyta currently serves as the Senior Director of Research Communications at Thomas Jefferson University, where they have held various positions since 2017. Prior to this, they worked at the Philadelphia Education Fund as an AmeriCorps VISTA, where they helped build the Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem project. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Science Writer and Media Relations Representative at Thomas Jefferson University, where they developed a process for faculty outreach and secured major placements in esteemed media outlets. Edyta also has experience as a Senior Editor at The Scientist magazine, where they edited features and worked closely with scientific illustrators. Additionally, they worked as an online news editor at Inform and as an intern at Natural History magazine. Edyta began their career as a Scientist II at Wyeth.

Edyta Zielinska holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Science Journalism from New York University, which they obtained in 2006. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Immunology/Microbiology at New York Medical College from 2003 to 2005. In 2001, Edyta graduated from Hampshire College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology/Education.
