Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna

Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna has a diverse background in the medical field. Umelo has worked as a Medical Director, Director of Clinical Services, and HOD of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cedarcrest Hospitals since 2015. Prior to that, they held various roles at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, including Specialist Registrar, Registrar, and gained experience in emergency obstetrics, gynecology training, surgeries, and family planning. Umelo also completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at CRAFT Hospital & Research Centre, where they gained expertise in infertility management and assisted reproductive technology. Umelo has also worked as a Visiting Specialist Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lily Hospitals Limited and served as a Medical Officer at State Specialist Hospital. Umelo started their career with a housemanship at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, rotating through various departments. Overall, Umelo has a strong background in obstetrics, gynecology, infertility management, and assisted reproductive technology.

Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna has a comprehensive education history in the medical field. Umelo obtained a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine (FRM) specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from Craft Hospital and Research Center in India, which they completed from 2013 to 2014.

Prior to that, from 2009 to 2014, Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna pursued a degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the West African College of Surgeons, obtaining the FWACS qualification.

In 1999, Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna earned their MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Benin, where they focused on Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, during the same period, they completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program as part of their degree.

Before entering university, Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna completed their secondary education at Western Boys' High School from 1991 to 1997, obtaining the SSCE (Secondary School Certificate Examination). Furthermore, they received their primary education at Victory Primary School, where they acquired the First School Leaving Certificate from 1986 to 1991.

It is worth noting that Umelo Ferdinand Uchenna has obtained several certifications alongside their formal education. These include the FCIA (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration) from the Chartered Institute of Administration in July 2023, the FICS (Fellow of the International College of Surgeons) from the International College of Surgeons in June 2022, and another FWACS qualification from the West African College of Surgeons in October 2014. Umelo also obtained the FRM (India) certification from Craft Hospital & Research Centre in March 2014. Lastly, they acquired their MBBS degree from the University of Benin in March 2006.
