Sabina Paglialunga, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Sabina currently serves as the Director of Scientific Affairs at Celerion since April 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Director of Scientific Affairs at the same company since October 2017. Sabina also worked as a Metabolic and Pharmacodynamic Specialist at Celerion from April 2015 to September 2017, where they provided scientific and operational support for early clinical studies related to obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver disease.
Before joining Celerion, Sabina was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Waterloo from October 2014 to April 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Guelph from October 2012 to September 2014. Sabina also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Maastricht University from September 2009 to September 2012. During their time at Maastricht University, they gained expertise in mitochondrial dysfunction and related techniques such as high-resolution respirometry and hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamps. Sabina also supervised Bachelor, Master, and PhD student projects and served as a tutor and lab coordinator.
Sabina's academic journey began at Université Laval, where they completed their PhD from 2005 to 2009.
Sabina Paglialunga, PhD, completed their education in a chronological order. Sabina obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Waterloo, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Afterwards, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry at McGill University, where they studied from 2003 to 2009.
