Sameera Perera

Sameera Perera has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several technology companies. Sameera is currently working as the Director of Engineering, R&D at Celigo, a Series C automation platform company. In this role, Sameera is responsible for designing and building new projects at Celigo.

Prior to their current position, Sameera worked as the Director of Engineering at WSO2, the largest open-source integration vendor. Sameera provided leadership to the Platform Technical Group and managed engineering teams responsible for building the core technology stack of WSO2 Middleware Suite.

Sameera also has experience as a Co-Founder and Advisor at Pragmatic Test Labs, where they played a significant role in the company's growth and success.

In their earlier career, Sameera held positions such as Product Manager and Architect at Celigo, Inc, where they made key contributions to the development and integration of various software products. Sameera also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Calcey Technologies and Millennium Information Technologies, where they designed and developed software solutions for clients in various industries.

Sameera started their career as a Software Engineer at VA Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and gained valuable experience as an Intern/Volunteer at Lanka Software Foundation, where they designed and built a draft implementation of OASIS Web Services Security specification.

Sameera Perera received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Honors, majoring in Civil Engineering and minoring in Management, from the University of Moratuwa in 2005. Sameera then pursued a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from the University of Colombo, completing it in 2005. In 2012, Sameera earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from the University of Wales. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including the TeamOps Foundations from GitLab, the Certified Mentor from the United Latino Students Association, and integrator.io Mastery Level 4: LEGENDARY from Celigo. Sameera has also completed several online courses from Coursera, including Principles of Secure Coding, Model Thinking (with Distinction), Critical Perspectives on Management (with Distinction), Nanotechnology: The Basics, Human-Computer Interaction (with Distinction), and Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies (with Distinction). Sameera also obtained a certification in White Hat Hacking and Penetration Testing from Infinite Skills Inc.
