Volker Bergen

Volker Bergen has a diverse work experience history. Volker started at Siemens as a Corporate IT student trainee in 2014 and then moved on to intern in Portfolio Management at Assenagon Asset Management in 2015. Following this, they transitioned to Key Account Management at Tarifhaus AG from 2016 to 2019. In 2017, they pursued a PhD in Machine Learning and Computational Biology at Helmholtz Zentrum München. Currently, they hold the position of Machine Learning Scientist at Cellarity since 2020 and has been promoted to Principal Scientist, specializing in Computational Biology and Machine Learning.

Volker Bergen completed their Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich in 2013. Volker further pursued a Master of Science in Finance and Information Management at the University of Augsburg from 2014 to 2016, with an additional certification as a Certified Exchange Trader at Eurex in 2016. Volker then earned a Master of Science in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich in 2017. Subsequently, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Biology at the Helmholtz Center Munich from 2017 to 2021, with a brief study period at Harvard Medical School in 2019.
