Juan Fernando Lopez

Juan Fernando Lopez has extensive work experience in the field of machine learning, automation, and robotics. Juan Fernando is currently employed at CELLINK as a Machine Learning Engineer and Team Lead. Prior to their current role, they worked at BICO as a Machine Learning Engineer and Technical Lead from October 2021 to July 2022. Juan Fernando also held positions as an Automation and Machine Learning Engineer from July 2019 to September 2021, a Test Automation Engineer from September 2018 to June 2019, and a Software/Hardware Engineer from June 2018 to August 2018, all within the same company. Before joining BICO, Juan worked at Corporación FABRILAB as a Control Systems Engineer from August 2016 to July 2017. Juan Fernando also gained research experience at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they worked as a Biomechanics Research Group Assistant from January 2017 to June 2017 and as a Robotics Research Student from January 2015 to January 2016. Additionally, Juan completed a Robotics Research Internship at Cornell University's Organic Robotics Lab from February 2016 to July 2016.

Juan Fernando Lopez earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering with a specialization in Robotics and Automation Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2009 to 2016. In 2016, they participated in an International Exchange Student Program at Cornell University, where they focused on Soft Robotics in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. Juan Fernando then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Robotics and Automation Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 2015 to 2018. Finally, Juan completed their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Biomedical Engineering, from Chalmers University of Technology from 2017 to 2019.
