Jaesung Lee has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Jaesung began their career as a Research Associate at the Asan Institute for Life Science, where they focused on the characterization of the Ryanodine receptor in rats. During this time, they also set up molecular biology systems in the lab.
Jaesung then pursued postdoctoral positions at Baylor College of Medicine and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where they gained valuable research experience.
In 2009, Jaesung joined the University of California at San Diego as an Assistant Project Scientist, where they studied the role of GIV in kidney podocytes. Jaesung later joined the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute as a Research Associate, investigating cell cycle checkpoints in stem cells.
Jaesung then transitioned into the industry, joining Kolon Life Science as a Molecular Biology Team Leader and later becoming the Head of the R&D Strategy Team.
Currently, they are working at Celltrion Healthcare Co., Ltd., where they have held several positions including MSL Team Leader/Senior Manager, Team Leader of Regional Marketing, Deputy Director of Marketing, and Director/Head of Primary Care Team. Jaesung is currently serving as the Director and Head of the Chemical Marketing Team.
Jaesung Lee received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agricultural Chemistry from Seoul National University in 1995. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from the same university, which was completed in 1997. Continuing their academic journey, Jaesung went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin between 1998 and 2003.
