Elly Kadenyo

Elly Kadenyo has a diverse work experience in the field of data management and database administration. In their most recent role as a Principal Data Engineer at Cellulant, they were responsible for designing and optimizing data architectures, building and managing data stores and pipelines, and organizing data to meet business needs. Prior to that, Elly held the position of Senior Database Administrator at Cellulant.

Before joining Cellulant, Elly worked as a DBA Consultant at Irembo, where they formulated database and data management strategies, provided capacity building in DBA and Data Engineering, and deployed HADR database clusters in Kubernetes. Elly also gained experience as a Database Consultant at Nile Grid, where they implemented, administered, and supported databases, as well as designed and developed data warehouses.

During their time at DT One, Elly served as a Team Lead for the Database Administration team, overseeing the administration of databases in over 25 countries globally. They were involved in all aspects of database implementation, administration, automation, and support, as well as recruitment, assessment, and development of database administrators.

Prior to that, Elly worked as a Senior System and Database Administrator and Head of Technical Department at Kenya Network Information Centre, where they ensured the availability, stability, and security of the registry systems. They also implemented projects to strengthen the systems and supported various departments.

Elly's earlier experience includes working as a System and Database Administrator at SGS Kenya Limited, where they focused on ensuring maximum systems availability, supporting system users, and working on various projects. They also served as an IT Support Consultant at Impax Business Solutions Limited, providing 24/7 support for system users and deploying and administering applications and databases.

Throughout their career, Elly has demonstrated a strong background in data management, database administration, and technical leadership.

Elly Kadenyo completed a Data Engineering Nano Degree from Udacity in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Database Development and Administration as well as Advanced Linux Administration from the Institute Of Software Technologies in 2014-2015. In 2006-2010, Elly studied at Kenyatta University and earned a Bsc in Computer Science. In 2018, they pursued training in Certified Ethical Hacking and EC Council Security Analysis at The African Advanced Level Telecommunication Institute. Additionally, in the same year, Elly completed a Financial course for non-finance managers at the Kenya School of Government.
