Monica Maechler

Monica Maechler is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in governance and legal roles within the finance and insurance sectors. Since 2015, Monica Maechler has served as a Member of the Board of Directors for Cembra Money Bank AG and Zurich Insurance Group AG, and previously held a position on the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG from 2012 to 2018. Prior to these roles, Monica Maechler was Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at FINMA from 2009 to 2012 and CEO of the Federal Office of Private Insurance from 2007 to 2008. Monica Maechler's legal career began at De Capitani & Kronauer, where an attorney-at-law title was obtained, followed by significant tenure at Zurich Insurance Group as Group General Counsel and Corporate Legal Advisor. An academic background includes a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Zurich.
