Michael Collins

Michael Collins has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, holding various medical director and physician roles. Michael is currently serving as the Senior Medical Director at CenCal Health since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Medical Director at MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. starting from January 2022. Michael previously held the position of Medical Director at CalOptima from June 2021 to January 2022. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as the Medical Director of Ambulatory Care at Optum, Inc. Before that, they served as the Associate Medical Director at IEHP from July 2012 to January 2017. Michael also has experience in Occupational Medicine, working at Kaiser Permanente International from December 2010 to July 2012 and at San Bernardino County Center for Health and Wellness from April 2008 to July 2010. Additionally, they worked as a Utilization Review Physician at EK Health Services, Inc. from October 2007 to March 2008.

Michael Collins has a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, obtained from 1997 to 2001. Michael then pursued their Master's of Public Health in Health Administration from Loma Linda University from 2002 to 2005. During the same period, they also completed a General Public Health and Preventive Medicine Residency from Loma Linda University. In 2005-2006, they pursued an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Fellowship at UC Irvine. Michael is also certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, obtaining Board Certification in Occupational and Environmental Medicine in January 2017 and becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine in January 2016.
