Angela Barnett-Grams is the current Director of HR Business Partnering at Cengage. Angela has over fifteen years of experience in human resources, with a strong focus on employee relations, organizational development, employee engagement, and performance management.

Barnett-Grams began their career in human resources at LexisNexis in October 2005, where they spent seven years as Human Resources Manager. In this role, they partnered with leadership to create and execute action plans to meet offshore model of accounting shared services, which included communication planning, redesigning new organization, eliminating redundant positions, providing culture training, providing extensive career transition opportunities, managing change proactively, and managing conflict and challenges quickly & appropriately. Angela also organized company-wide training program on company strategy, executed leadership onboarding program, participated on Policy Team that rolled out 10 updated policies and training with direct responsibility on Hiring and Separation policies, performed team building sessions & interventions for new leaders and poor performing teams, action planned on results of employee opinion surveys, and participated in company-wide recruitment center of excellence to increase efficiency in tools & resources and empower hiring managers.

In March 2012, Barnett-Grams left LexisNexis to assume their current role as Director of HR Business Partnering at Cengage. In this role, they are responsible for building relationships with leadership, managers and employees to provide a consultative approach to approaching business problems and creating solutions to help them meet their business

Angela Barnett-Grams has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, General from Wright State University. Angela also has certifications from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), as well as certification from SHRM in SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

They are on a team with Molly O’Shea - Senior Talent Acquistion Partner, Barbara Hunter - Human Resources Business Partner, and Adam Koussari-Amin - Director, Talent Management. Angela Barnett-Grams reports to Jeri Herman, Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
