Kara Zernhel

Kara Zernhel is an experienced technical and operations manager with a background in chemical engineering and business administration. Currently serving as OM&S Technical Manager at Cenovus Energy since May 2021, Kara leads a team of OM&S engineers. Prior experience includes roles at Husky Energy from August 2013 to December 2021, where responsibilities spanned operations management for various processing units, including sulfur recovery and gasoline hydrotreater. Kara also acted as SRU Operations Superintendent and worked as a process engineer focused on optimization and troubleshooting. Earlier roles include instrumentation engineering, teaching assistance at The Ohio State University, and co-op positions at Marathon Petroleum Company. Kara holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Bowling Green State University.
