Dorothea Thurmond

Dorothea Thurmond, MPH, currently serves as the Manager of Quality Improvement at Centene Corporation since May 2021. Previously, Dorothea held the position of Director of Clinical Education in Nashville, Tennessee from October 2018 to January 2020. From 2011 to 2018, Dorothea worked at Community Health Systems as a Quality Management Nurse, supporting physician practices with quality-related inquiries and participating in payer incentive programs. Prior roles include Clinical Appeals Review Coordinator, where Dorothea ensured compliance with medical necessity requirements, and Medicaid Care Coordinator/Medicaid Case Manager at Amerigroup, managing care for over 250 members. Dorothea's early experience included serving as a Clinical Appeals Nursing Specialist at HCA Healthcare, where claims were reviewed for potential appeals based on medical necessity. Dorothea holds a Master's degree in Public Health from Purdue Global (2016-2018).
