Michael Young

Michael Young is the Director of IT Client Services at Centennial College. Michael has over 8 years of experience in IT management, including overseeing campus-wide IT operations, leading IT projects, and managing IT budgets. Michael has also served on various committees and groups dedicated to improving IT operations and services. Prior to their current position, they were the Senior Director of IT, Finance, Facilities and Administration, and Corporate Projects at ICES from March 2019 to February 2020. Before that, they were the Acting Director of IT Client Services at the University of Toronto from July 2011 to March 2019, where they were responsible for overseeing the university's IT operations, including human resources, finances, facilities, and knowledge management. Michael also led the team responsible for migrating faculty and staff from Microsoft Exchange Services to Office 365 SaaS cloud products. In their current role at Centennial College, Michael is responsible for leading the IT team in providing excellent service to clients, as well as continuously improving the college's IT infrastructure and operations.

Michael Young has a Bachelor of Arts in English from York University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Queen's University, and has completed an Executive Program in The Coaching Habit from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. In addition, they have taken Project Management courses from the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies, and has completed training in University of Toronto’s New Managers Academy, ITIL v3 Foundation, and Teaching Assistant Training: "The Writing TA". Michael also has certification in EMC Data Domain Administration from EMC, Windows Active Directory from ctc TrainCanada, and ITIL Training from York University.

Michael Young reports to Craig Stephenson, President & CEO. They work with Charmaine Hack - VP, Strategic Enrollment Management, John Tziortzis - AVP, Information Technology, and Bruce Williams - Director, Marketing & Creative Services.
