Devon Ombres has a diverse work experience spanning various positions in the legal and policy fields. They began their career in 2007 as a Staff Attorney at Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an Associate at Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., specializing in defense litigation. Following this, they joined Thompson Trial Group, P.A. as an Associate, focusing on plaintiff's litigation and appellate work. In 2013, they became a Legal Fellow at the US House of Representatives, working with the House Committee on the Judiciary. From 2015 to 2016, Devon served as the Director of Policy Development & Programming at the American Constitution Society, where they oversaw and implemented national programming related to economic inequality, intellectual property, and environmental regulations. They then returned to the US House of Representatives, working as a Senior Counsel and later Staff Director of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties from 2017 to 2023. In their most recent position, they became the Senior Director of Courts and Legal Reform at the Center for American Progress in 2023.

Devon Ombres received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing & Finance from Florida State University in the years 1999 to 2003.
