Shu-Jing Yen

Shu-Jing Yen has a diverse range of work experience. From 2009 to the present, they have worked at the Center for Applied Linguistics, initially as a Research Scientist and now as the Senior Director of Psychometrics and Quantitative Research. In these roles, they have conducted psychometric and statistical analyses on data from language assessments and other instruments, conducted research on psychometric issues related to language testing, and worked as part of interdisciplinary teams to create and maintain large datasets.

Prior to their time at the Center for Applied Linguistics, Shu-Jing Yen worked as a Research Scientist at CTB/McGraw-Hill from 2002 to 2009. At CTB/McGraw-Hill, they conducted research projects and oversaw IES funded research projects and Research and Development centers focused on improving instruction and assessments at various levels of education.

Before their time at CTB/McGraw-Hill, Shu-Jing Yen worked as an Assessment Specialist at the Maryland State Department of Education from 1997 to 2002. Shu-Jing also worked as an Instructor at the University of Maryland, College Park from 1995 to 1997.

Shu-Jing Yen pursued their education at the University of Maryland from 1989 to 1997, where they earned a Ph.D in Measurement and Statistics.
