Learning Design And Research Specialist at CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology)

Allison Smith Posey is an accomplished author and educator with extensive experience in learning design and research. Currently serving as an author at ASCD since November 2018, Posey explores the intersection of emotion and learning in the book "Engage the Brain." Additionally, Posey has been an adjunct professor at Lasell University since September 2016. With a background as a Learning Design and Research Specialist at CAST, starting in November 2012, and previously as a Senior Content Editor and Producer from April 2009 to April 2023, Posey focuses on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to enhance educational strategies. Other notable roles include authoring the book "Unlearning," teaching psychology and biology at Walnut Hill Arts School, and delivering advanced concepts in anatomy and physiology at Middlesex Community College and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Posey earned an MEd in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University and holds degrees from Friends School Baltimore MD, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and James Madison University.
