Julian Adler is the Center's director of innovation and strategy, and previously served as the director of policy and research and the director of the Red Hook Community Justice Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was part of the planning teams that created Brooklyn Justice Initiatives and Newark Community Solutions in New Jersey. Julian is the co-author of Start Here: A Road Map to Reducing Mass Incarceration (The New Press), along with a range of book chapters and articles that examine the intersections of the criminal legal system, social science, and mental health.
He serves on multiple steering and advisory committees, and he is a co-chair of the advisory board for Wesleyan University’s Center for Prison Education.
