Rachel Gawell Burns

Rachel Gawell Burns is an accomplished musician and educator currently serving as a cellist (sub) for Funny Girl since February 2023 and a guitarist (sub) for Six the Musical since May 2022. Additionally, Rachel has been a Teaching Artist at The Center for Educational Innovation since January 2019, where responsibilities include teaching English Language Arts and math through musical projects to students in NYC District 75 special education schools, as well as leading professional learning workshops for educators. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violoncello Performance from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University (2005-2008) and completed a Masters Study at Codarts Rotterdam | University of the Arts in 2008-2009.
