Danielle Mindess

Project Director, Midtown Community Justice Center at Center for Justice Innovation

Danielle Mindess has a diverse range of work experience. In 2006, they worked as an Atlanta Project Administrator for 365 Days/365 Plays, where they organized a theater festival and managed marketing efforts. From 2008 to 2009, they were self-employed as an English Language Instructor, teaching English grammar and conversation to individuals and small groups. From 2009 to 2012, they served as the Education Coordinator at The Doe Fund, Inc., developing and managing an adult education program for formerly incarcerated and homeless adults. In 2013, they worked as a Workforce 101 Instructor at the New York City Department of Correction and an Adult Basic Education Instructor in the Sandy Rebuild Training Program at the Center for Employment Opportunities. In 2014, they joined the Manhattan District Attorney's Office as a Supervising Policy & Planning Analyst and later became the Deputy Director for Planning and Policy from 2017 to 2018. From 2019 to 2022, they held various roles at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, starting as the Director of the Criminal Justice Investment Initiative and then becoming the Director of Strategic Planning & Policy. Most recently, in 2022, they joined the Center for Justice Innovation as the Project Director of the Midtown Community Justice Center.

Danielle Mindess obtained their BA in Theater Studies from Emory University in 2005. From 2011 to 2013, they pursued an MPA in Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy at New York University.
