Luz Cepeda

Community School Director for Flushing High School, New York City at Center for Supportive Schools

Luz Cepeda is a Community School Director working with Flushing High School (FHS) in New York City. As a community school director, she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the community school strategy in collaboration with school leadership and community partners. Previously, Luz served as the Student Engagement Coordinator at FHS for over a year. She has over 5 years of youth development and educational experience in various positions and roles, including SYEP, Education Specialist, Academic Advisor, Senior Case Manager, Mentoring Leadership, and Program Coordinator. Luz's focus is to develop systems that improve communication and relationships between students-teachers, teachers-parents, and parents-school staff. She holds a master's degree in youth studies from CUNY: School of Professional Studies, a bachelor's degree in education studies with a concentration in family and community development from New York University, and an associate degree in human services from Stella and Charles Guttman Community College.
