Laura Guerra-Cardus

Laura Guerra-Cardus currently holds the position of Director of State Medicaid Strategy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a role assumed in February 2022. Prior to this, Laura served as Deputy Director for the Texas office of the Children's Defense Fund from October 2007 to February 2022. Educationally, Laura is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at Baylor College of Medicine, expected to be completed in May 2025, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Pre-Med from Rice University, obtained in October 2020.
