David Kanter is the Special Artistic Coordinator at CENTER STAGE ASSOCIATES INC. David has also worked as the Technical Lead for AV Infrastructure at Condé Nast. In this role, they were responsible for AV engineering and project management. David was promoted three times in 15 months and led/trained staff on product, project, and infrastructure initiatives. David also created/implemented a system for tracking/managing team KPIs, documentation, technical debt.
Kanter has also executed multimedia tech scope for high-visibility Condé Nast initiatives, including the AV scope of $MM 1WTC office redesign, which included the design/build out of 200+ new conference room systems and digital signage on 15 floors. In under 60 days, they launched $350K state-of-the-art event space for CN Digital’s new 1WTC office. David also co-led $7M+ multimedia systems buildout of CN headquarters during its historical move to 1WTC as anchor tenant.
In addition to their work with Condé Nast, Kanter has also developed/managed a portfolio of innovative, collaborative tech products to serve organizational change efforts & business needs, such as interactive touchscreen collaboration systems and 24/7 virtual “watercooler” system for distributed teams. David has also implemented agile workflow for AV Infrastructure, enabling improved client support while driving strategic new tech development.
David Kanter received their PhD in ethnomusicology from Queen's University Belfast. David also holds an MA in social anthropology with a specialization in ethnomusicology from Queen's University Belfast, and a BA in anthropology from the University of South Florida.
David Kanter reports to Stephanie Ybarra, Artistic Director. They work with Robyn Murphy - Special Artistic Coordinator, Sabine Decatur, Chiara Klein - Director, Artistic Producing, and Annalisa Dias - Director, Artistic Partnerships & Innovation.
