Shane Marais

Shane Marais is an experienced professional in electrical and instrumentation engineering and maintenance management, currently serving as the Mill Maintenance Manager at Centerra Gold Inc. since November 2014. Prior roles include Plant/Maintenance/E&I Engineer as a self-employed contractor, E&I Engineer with London Mining Plc, and Maintenance Manager at FLSmidth. Shane's career began at SAPPI Kraft, where responsibilities evolved from Maintenance Engineer to Chief Planner, alongside roles at SAPPI Headoffice and Eskom as a PT&M Technician. Shane holds a Government Certificate of Competency in Electrical Engineering and a National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Vaal Triangle University of Technology.
