Ray Hurd is an experienced leader in strategic development and business operations with a focus on healthcare programs. Since June 2011, Ray Hurd has served as the Deputy Director of Strategy and Business Operations at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, overseeing 650 staff across 11 locations while providing oversight and technical assistance for Medicare programs and health insurers. Previously, Ray Hurd held roles as Regional Administrator and Deputy Consortium Administrator, providing executive leadership across multiple offices. Ray Hurd also served as Mission Support Chief for the Federal Protective Service, leading administrative and support programs for the New England Region, and temporarily acting as Director of Mission Support. A veteran of the US Navy, Ray Hurd spent twenty years as a Surface Warfare Officer, commanding two shore commands. Ray Hurd holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Norwich University and a Master’s Degree in Management from Troy University.
