Aleksandr Shirkhanyan

Head Of Financial Stability Research Division at Central Bank of Armenia

Aleksandr Shirkhanyan began their work experience in 2012 at CJSC VTB Bank (Armenia) as a Credit Specialist. Aleksandr later became the Head Specialist before leaving in August 2013. In September 2013, Shirkhanyan joined the Central Bank of Armenia as an Economist. After working in this role for over four years, they were promoted to Senior Economist in February 2018. Finally, in August 2020, they assumed the position of Head of Financial Stability Research Division at the Central Bank of Armenia.

Aleksandr Shirkhanyan's education history is as follows:

From 2021 to 2023, Aleksandr pursued a Master's degree in Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

In 2018 to 2020, Aleksandr completed MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science through MITx Courses.

From 2014 to 2017, Aleksandr studied at Yerevan State University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics.

In 2012 to 2014, Aleksandr obtained a Master's degree in Economics from Yerevan State University.

From 2008 to 2012, Aleksandr earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Yerevan State University.

Additionally, Aleksandr has received several certifications, including "Python in Analytics" from Columbia University in the City of New York, "MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science" from MITx on edX, "Machine Learning with Python-From Linear Models to Deep Learning" from MITx on edX, "Fundamentals of Statistics" from MITx on edX, "Scientific Computing and Python for Data Science" from WorldQuant University, "Data Analysis in Social Science" from MITx on edX, "Probability - The Science of Uncertainty and Data" from MITx on edX, and "edX Honor Code Certificate for Financial Programming and Policies, Part 1: Macroeconomic Accounts & Analysis" from the International Monetary Fund.
