Arakel Meliksetyan

Head, Financial Intelligence Unit at Central Bank of Armenia

Arakel Meliksetyan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Arakel started their career as a Freelance Translator/Interpreter in 1995, working independently for various clients. In 2000, they joined the Central Bank of Armenia as a Senior Bank Examiner, where they conducted assessments and examinations of banks. Arakel then served as the Head of Banking Supervision Unit from 2006 to 2007, overseeing the regulation and supervision of banks. In 2007, Arakel was promoted to the position of Deputy Director of Financial Intelligence, contributing to the analysis and counteraction of financial crimes. Currently, they hold the role of Head of Financial Intelligence Unit, responsible for managing and leading the unit's activities.

Arakel Meliksetyan completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management and Marketing from the American University of Armenia, from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Sciences from the State Engineering University of Armenia, from 1990 to 1995. Before pursuing higher education, Arakel Meliksetyan attended School No 2 from 1980 to 1990, though no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
