Samvel Arakelyan

Samvel Arakelyan has extensive work experience in the financial sector, particularly in the Central Bank of Armenia. Samvel began their career in 1994 as the Head of the ICT Department and served in that role until December 2020. Following this, they became the Advisor of the Director of CSD Directorate. Currently, they hold the position of Head of the Operating Department in the Financial Markets Directorate at the Central Bank of Armenia, starting from July 2021. Prior to their work at the Central Bank, Samvel Arakelyan worked as a Lecturer at the State Engineering University of Armenia from 1987 to 1993.

Samvel Arakelyan completed their Master's degree in Computer Science at the State Engineering University of Armenia from 1976 to 1981. Afterward, from 1984 to 1986, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
