May AlKhalifa serves as the Vice Chair and MENA Regional Representative for the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units since August 2021. Concurrently, May holds the position of Chief Executive and Director at the Bahrain Ministry of Interior, along with serving as the Deputy Head of the AML/CFT National Policy Committee since April 2019. In addition, May has been a Board Member of the Central Bank of Bahrain since May 2020 and previously held the role of Vice Chair for the Egmont Group from January 2016 to January 2018. May's career in finance began as the Head of the Financial Analysis Division at the Financial Intelligence Directorate, followed by a position as Senior Analyst at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology, a Bachelor's degree in Finance from University College of Bahrain, a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Bahrain, and a High School Diploma from Ibn Khuldoon National School.
