Michael Maher

Michael Maher serves as the Head of IT Risk Self-Assessment and Compliance at the Central Bank of Egypt, providing strategic leadership in IT risk management and regulatory compliance since February 2020. With extensive experience in cybersecurity, Michael has developed robust risk governance frameworks and a risk-aware culture to enhance national financial stability. Previously, Michael held multiple roles at Deloitte, including Information Security Officer, and at the National Bank of Egypt, where responsibilities ranged from senior IT auditor to fraud prevention responsibilities. Michael's educational background includes numerous certifications in information security and IT governance, complemented by a degree in Business Administration from Ain Shams University.
