Timothy Wafula

Timothy Wafula has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Timothy currently holds the position of Head of Oversight and Compliance - Banking & Payments Services at Central Bank of Kenya since April 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Payment Service Bank - Technical Operations at Globacom from December 2019 to April 2020.

Before joining Globacom, Wafula worked at Mahindra Comviva as the Head of Operations Mobile Financial Services-Africa Integrated Operations from January 2016 to December 2019. Timothy also has experience working at Safaricom, where they held various roles including Senior Manager Financial Services Support (M-PESA) from December 2014 to January 2016, Senior Manager Database Administration from January 2009 to November 2014, Principal Database Administrator from January 2008 to January 2009, and Senior Database Administrator from January 2005 to January 2008.

In addition, Wafula also worked at Airtel Kenya (formerly Kencell) as the CCBS Interaction & User Support Project Leader from May 2001 to January 2005, and at Software Technologies as a Technical Consultant from January 1999 to April 2001.
