Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is South Carolina’s generation and transmission electric cooperative, providing power to South Carolina’s 20 distribution cooperatives.  These cooperatives ultimately serve over 1.5 million member-consumers.  Central primarily purchases the power it supplies to its members through long-term power supply contracts.  In addition, Central constructs and maintains transmission lines located throughout the state.

The Engineering and Technical Team at Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is responsible for the design, maintenance, and planning of the transmission lines that deliver power across South Carolina. This team ensures the efficient and reliable operation of the power grid by developing databases, forecasting load demands, managing electrical loads, and planning future infrastructure projects. They play a critical role in maintaining the stability and integrity of the state’s electric power transmission network.
