Tangela D. Cheatham

Tangela D. Cheatham currently serves as the Deputy Athletics Director of Administration and Senior Woman Administrator at Central Michigan University since July 2022. Previously, Tangela held the position of Associate Athletic Director for Administration at the United States Military Academy at West Point from July 2021 to July 2022. With extensive experience at West Virginia University, Tangela progressed through roles including Assistant Athletics Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement and Inclusive Excellence, where responsibilities included overseeing diversity and inclusion efforts, and Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement, managing programs for student-athletes. Earlier roles included Career Specialist and Academic Coordinator at the University of Iowa and an internship at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Tangela holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education - Intercollegiate Athletics Administration from the University of Oklahoma and dual bachelor's degrees in Management and Organization/Strategy and Sport Management from the University of Michigan.
