Thomas Griffith has over 25 years of work experience, starting in 1994 as a Nuclear Engineer and Program Manager at the Department of Navy. In this role, they were responsible for spent fuel shipping, handling, and storage operations, as well as program management for naval spent nuclear fuel disposal. From 2005 to 2012, Thomas worked as a Financial Advisor at First Command Financial Services. Thomas then joined Central New York Community Foundation in 2013, where they initially served as the Director of Gift Planning before being promoted to Vice President of Development in October 2018.

Thomas Griffith obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the years 1990 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Chartered Financial Consultant degree from The American College from 2009 to 2011, specializing in Financial Planning. In 2013, Thomas Griffith attended The American College of Financial Services and obtained the designation of Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy, focusing on Philanthropy. Thomas also received additional certifications, including the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy in October 2013 and the Chartered Financial Consultant in February 2011, both from The American College of Financial Services.
