Liuone Faagai, MHRM, PHR has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. They began their career as a Junior Manager at McDonald's Corporation and subsequently worked as a Human Resources Specialist/Recruiter at The Queen's Medical Center. Moving up the career ladder, they then served as a Manager of Human Resources at the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel and later at Del Monte Fresh Produce (Hawaii).
Seeking opportunities for further growth and development, Faagai joined Kamehameha Schools and held various HR leadership roles, including Employment & Employee Relations Manager, HR Client Services and Operations Manager, and Interim HR Director. During their time at this organization, they were responsible for designing and implementing effective employment programs, leading workforce investment initiatives, and overseeing the planning and delivery of strategic human capital services.
In 2011, Faagai became a faculty member at the University of Phoenix, where they were accountable for ensuring instructional and academic excellence in the School of Business. Simultaneously, they also served as an Instructor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, contributing to the academic development of students.
Faagai's career continued to advance as they joined Hawaiian Electric. They held multiple roles within the company, including Director of Strategic People Initiatives, General Manager of Human Resources, and Culture and Change Management Lead. In these positions, Faagai provided leadership for various HR functions such as compensation and benefits, employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational development.
Most recently, Faagai worked at Hawaii Gas as the Executive Director of Human Resources and later as the Director of Human Resources. In these roles, they played a crucial role in developing and implementing HR strategies, ensuring the alignment between HR and business objectives.
Faagai's impressive work experience culminates in their current position as the Group Senior Vice President of HR at Central Pacific Bank, where they continue to contribute their expertise and knowledge in human resources management.
Liuone Faagai holds a Master's degree in Human Resources, which was obtained from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2009. In 2013, Faagai completed the Utility Executive Course at the University of Idaho. Additionally, they have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, although the specific start and end year are unknown. Prior to their higher education, Faagai attended Waianae High School. In terms of additional certifications, Faagai obtained a certification in Organizational Culture from LinkedIn in July 2022.
