Lauren Gates

Lauren Gates, CPA, currently serves as Associate Vice President of Financial & Auxiliary Services at Central Piedmont Community College, a position held since April 2017, which also includes roles as Controller and Director of Accounting and Reporting. Prior to this, Lauren gained extensive experience at Cherry Bekaert LLP from 2010 to 2017, progressing from Audit Intern to Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and finally Audit Manager. Lauren's early experience includes serving as a Resident Assistant at Appalachian State University from 2007 to 2009. Academic credentials include a Master of Accountancy with a focus on Audit and Controls from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Appalachian State University.
