Hang Kiang Lau has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. From 2006 to 2015, they worked in various roles at different companies, including Unifone and Toolbox Network Pte Ltd. During this time, they provided technical support for international Voice over IP services, supported global customers in fault identification and resolution, and administered call rates and service routing. Hang Kiang was also a member of network and system design teams, supporting implementation and maintenance work. From 2015 to 2021, Hang Kiang Lau worked at Green Packet Global, where they served as a Senior Engineer and later as the Head of NOC. In these roles, they provided Level 3 support for international Voice over IP and consumer services, led a team of NOC engineers, and drafted standard operation procedures to meet service and operation level agreements. Since 2021, they have been working at SIMBA Telecom Pte Ltd as the NOC Manager, responsible for leading both the NOC and SOC teams, addressing security concerns, and managing system and security incidents. In 2022, they joined CPF Board as a Lead Engineer.

Hang Kiang Lau studied Information Technology at Nanyang Polytechnic from 2001 to 2004. In 2019, Hang Kiang Lau enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy, but the completion date is unknown. In addition to formal education, Hang Kiang Lau obtained multiple certifications in various areas such as cybersecurity, cloud security, data analytics, and critical thinking from LinkedIn in 2023.
