Donkar Wangmo

Chief Counselor at Central Tibetan Administration

Donkar Wangmo has held several prestigious roles over the course of their career. Donkar started as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) at Tibetan Homes Foundation in Mussoorie from 1991 to 1999. Donkar then moved on to become the Chief Counselor at the Central Tibetan Administration from 2003 to the present. In 2016, they took on the role of Additional Secretary at the Department of Education CTA, where they are still currently employed.

Donkar Wangmo completed their M.A. in Education with a specialization in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from the University of Northern Iowa from 1999 to 2002. Donkar attended Cambrian Hall, Dehra Dun, but there is no information available regarding the years of attendance or the degree obtained. Donkar also attended Government College of Education, Punjab University, Chandigarh, where they earned a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree, although the specific years for this are unknown. Donkar further pursued their education at HP University, Shimla, where they received a Master of Arts (MA) and M.Phil in English Language and Literature; however, the years of study are not provided. Lastly, Donkar Wangmo completed their B.A in Humanities at St. Bede's College, Shimla, but the timeframe is unspecified.
