Mir Bear-Johnson has held various positions in the field of entomology. From 2017 to 2022, they worked at the Delta Vector Control District as an Assistant Manager, Scientific Program Manager, and Biologist. Prior to that, they worked at Quidel from 2015 to 2017 as a Reagent Chemist I, where they supported the development of procedures for new biomedical products, troubleshot and resolved technical issues with product performance, and developed, manufactured, and performed ELISAs for multiple product lines. Currently, they are employed at Central Life Sciences as a Product Development/Entomologist.
Mir Bear-Johnson completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from 2013 to 2015.
