Krystine Abel

Director, Wellness Innovation at CAMH

Krystine Abel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in health research and program implementation, currently serving as Director of Wellness Innovation at CAMH since February 2016, and earlier held roles including Manager, Implementation and Research Methods Specialist - Aboriginal Evaluation. In addition, Krystine Abel has been an Associate at Weaving Wellness Centre since July 2023. Previous roles comprise Site Coordinator/Health Research Interviewer for the "Our Health Counts" project at St. Michael's Hospital, Documentarian for the Indigenous Women, Memory and Power Project at First Story Toronto, and Evaluation Project Coordinator for Anishinawbe Health Toronto's Diabetes Outreach and Prevention Team. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Work focused on Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency, a Master of Education in Adult Education and Community Development, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Aboriginal Studies from the University of Toronto.
