Ranjan Sen is a Staff Scientist-VII and In-charge DIrector at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD). With experience as a Group Leader, Ranjan has been with CDFD since December 2001. Prior to this, Ranjan worked as a Visiting Fellow at NIH, NICHD and as a Visiting Scientist at NIG, Japan. Ranjan completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biophysics and Molecular Biology from the University of Calcutta.

Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is an institute under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The centre is equipped with world-class state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure to facilitate research and development in frontier areas of modern biology. It is recognised by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad and the University of Hyderabad for a PhD programme in Life Sciences. It also hosts a business incubator which is dedicated to nurturing, promoting, and accelerating early-stage innovations in life sciences and related disciplines.
